Free Dengue Vaccines for Public Schools in the Philippines

The department of health will facilitate free dengue vaccines to all public school starting March to April 2016 for the first vaccination. Since the dengue vaccine need to be vaccinated twice the second one should be vaccinated from 6 to 12 months interval.

The target areas for the vaccinations are NCR, Region 3 and CALABARZON public schools. The ages of children that will be vaccinated are from nine (9) years old and older, eight (8) years old and younger are not included for the dengue vaccination.

The DOH will coordinate with the DepED and all health workers that will help facilitate the dengue vaccination for the said public schools.

Although the dengue vaccine will be vaccinated to public schools, it is said to be available to the private sectors for sale. The price of the vaccine is not yet announced.
